Agreed. Jesus IS Love but even more..he represented the Kristos (christ consciousness) and tried to convey what this meant to humanity to save of us from the death of ignorance.
Jesus did not say (in my humble opinion) that he himself was "the way" but that the Christ Consciousness (which he represented) was, itself, was the way back to source (the Father).
I might also add to this..I am not a christian but i know there is power within the true understanding of this teaching.
The first christians who died by persecution understood this...the Council of Nicea who wrote the bible had other things in mind (as demonstrated by such things as the Crusades and Inquisition etc.).
Careful to not mistake god (with a little "g") and God, "Source" (with capital "G"). Refer to Sumerian texts to guide you on this. Why God can be hurtful and loving at the same time..yes there is a reason why this is.
So I would agree with your statement and add to it..we are created in the image of the Source Creator, so realizing that part of self is what develops true love and acceptance of the lower self as it lift into and becomes the higher.
And in my humble opinion Jesus was real, no myth survives the test of time that does not contain truth. If you are like me and found (in the King James) that there were just not enough of those "Red" verses (The words of Jesus) ..then avail yourself of some greater wisdoms and try Reading "The Aquarian Gospel of Jesus the Christ" by Eliphas Levi
..if you are one listening to your heart you will resonate with this text which is truly inspired. If you found that quenched some thirst then try "The 9 Faces of Christ", afterwards..be ready to be blown away by both.
If you are trapped by dogma then avoid both those texts.
I respect all beliefs as ways back to Source, there is truly is no wrong way to travel and we are all fellow travelers on the same path so no insult was meant by this post and I hope none taken.
