2. Profile

2.1 How to start using LuvFree?

Just take a few minutes to create a profile and get full access to our services. After signing up, you will receive a notification message with a link to your email address. Click at the link or enter a code to confirm your email. We need to make sure the email address you provided is valid. Once you get a new message or a kiss in your onsite inbox, you'll be notified by email. If you do not want to receive notifications, you can turned them off any time. Once your email address is confirmed, your profile will be reviewed and approved. It usually takes us 1-12 hours. Unfortunately that is the only way to filter out the scammers.

2.2 Is it necessary to fill in the full join form?

Filling in the short join form with your details is enough to get access to our services. We advise you to add a picture to your page. Statistics show that profiles with photos are viewed ten times more often. The full sign up form looks quite long, but it allows other singles to get to know you better and contact you much easier. Tell people about yourself and your lifestyle. An interesting and detailed description will increase your chance to meet the right person. Please note we do not accept adult personal ads. Once your email address is confirmed, your profile will be reviewed and approved. It usually takes us 1-12 hours. Approval status does not let you to send kisses, messages and use a chat. Waiting for approval, you can choose the suitable settings for your page: public/hidden profile and photos, public/hidden last login, local/worldwide contacts, yes/no casual contacts, rating photos and profile comments. Do not forget to click at "Save" after editing your profile page. You're free to edit your page any time by clicking "My profile". Please note if you change any of the following: username, date of birth, about me description, my match description or upload a picture, your account automatically gets approval status. You can delete your profile any time by clicking at "Delete" or sending us a message through our contact form.

2.3 I am trying to fill out registration form but keep getting error E-mail used by another member. Why?

It is a possibility that you have already submitted profile on our site with the same e-mail address. If you have forgotten your registration data to that account, you can use recovering old password function. (Read more on 3.1 page) Please consider that no one can put their profile using your e-mail if they don't have access to you e-mail. To prevent this we have a confirmation of e-mail function (You can get more info on this procedure on page 2.11)

2.4 I am trying to fill registration form but getting error Invalid security image code. Why?

If you don't see security image while filling our registration form that means that your Internet browser has visual graphic that is turned off. You will have to turn on visual graphic in your browser.

2.5 I have filled the registration form but the letter with confirmation has not come to my e-mail address. Why?

May be you made a mistake on spelling your e-mail address. Please check your e-mail address when you were filling out the application. It is also possible that your e-mail service has recognized that letter as spam and didn't let you get it. Please check Bulk or Junk folder on your e-mail account. (More info on this you can see on page 8.8)

2.6 How can I change info in my profile after submitting it?

To change any info in your profile you can any time. You can add some info to your profile or to change it after saving, if you found an error or forgot something. On our dating site all info and settings of your profile is on a single page that is called "My profile". To go to that page you need to log in using your nickname and password, and press "My profile" on the top navigation menu. Then find the field you want to change, edit it, and press "Save Changes", which is located at the bottom of the page. If you make everything correct then on the top of that page you will see message "Profile has been updated", meaning that changes have been made. But if you see message "One or more errors were found" that means below are errors that need to be fixed. Only after that your changes will be saved. Please note that each time you change any of the following fields: nickname, real name, city, occupation, your and match description, your account is set into "Approval" mode and will be reviewed by administration team for activation. (More details about profile you can find on page 2.10)

2.7 How do I change my e-mail address?

Log in to the site using your nickname and password. Click on the "My Profile" and scroll down. Enter your new email address in the appropriate box and click on "Save Changes" button at the bottom of the page. Each time you change your account email, your account is set to "Unconfirmed" mode and a confirmation letter is sent to the new email. After you confirm your email, your profile will be accepted to be reviewed by administration team for activation. (On more profile details you can read on page 2.10)

2.8 How do I change my nickname?

Log in to the site using your nickname and password. Click on the "My Profile". "Nickname" is the first field on the "Edit profile" page. Enter your new nickname in the appropriate box and click on the "Save Changes" button at the bottom of the page. Please note each time you change any of the following: nickname, real name, city, occupation, description, match description in profile fields, your account is set into "Approval" mode and will be reviewed by administration team for activation. (On more profile details you can read on page 2.10)

2.9 How do I change my password?

Log in to the site using your nickname and password. Click on the "My Profile" and scroll down to where your password is. Enter your new password in the appropriate box and click on the "Save Changes" button at the bottom of the page.

2.10 Status of profile: Unconfirmed, Approval, Active, Suspended, Rejected.

Current Status of your profile is on upper left column with name "Info" on page "My Panel". On that page you are automatically after login on. Your profile can have 5 different statuses: Unconfirmed, Approval, Active, Suspended, and Rejected. The status of profile describes your current access to services on our site and also visibility of your page for other members.

  • Unconfirmed: Can be seen on your profile only in 2 ways. First you filled out your registration form and have not confirmed your email address or have changed the email. (More info on confirming email and on importance of it you can find on page 2.11) With this status you don't have access to our dating services and other members can not find your profile. What to do to get rid of the status? You need to double-check you email and click on registration link which is e-mailed to you by us. If you couldn't find our email in incoming or junk mail then please write to us in support using our contact form. (Please keep in mind that if the profile's status is unconfirmed more then 24 hours it will automatically be deleted.) After confirmation of your email the status automatically changes to Approval.
  • Approval: That status tells you that your profile is waiting to be approved by site's administration team. There is no need for and further info from you. Current status means that you still can not talk to other members just yet. In the mean time you can upload your photos and other info to your profile. Usually it doesn't take more than 24 hours before administrator can approve and make your profile active.
  • Active: That status is given to your profile after administrator approves your profile and you will receive e-mail with welcome and congratulations on becoming a member of our dating site with all services that are absolutely free.
  • Suspended: This status is created for your convenience. If you need to temporarily hide your profile, you can choose this status "Suspended". To do that you will have to log in using your nickname and password. You are automatically in the "My Panel". On this page press "Suspended" button which is located under "Profile status" on the top of right column "Info". Now status of your profile is "Suspended". In this case you profile is unavailable for search and contacts for all users of our site. Later you will always be able to active it back. For this you will need to press "Activate" button, which will appear instead of button "Suspend".
  • Rejected: This is the most unwanted status. If site's administrator has given you that status that's means you violated our Terms of Use, or we have received complaint from other user of our free dating site. Certainly in this case access to all dating services will be forbidden.

2.11 Why it's necessarily to confirm your current e-mail address?

Our dating site is dedicated to save dating services, meaning our site is a tool between users. We provide our users with safe service since only you decide what info to give to your newly met person. On our web site we have a notification system, which notifies you of newly received messages, virtual kisses or status of your profile, etc. To get our notifications, you need to have personal, valid e-mail address. In this case you will always be updated and you privacy will always be safe.

2.12 Why it is necessary to have profile status?

Profile status is needed for information on rights of users to site. They increase stability and safety of site and helps stop of fake profiles that are created by scammers. Status "suspended" is created for convenience of users.

2.13 How to hide or make visible my profile?

To make your profile invisible for visitors and other users of service, login to the site using your username and password. Go to "Manage profile" box at the right and press "Suspend profile". How your profile is "Suspended". It is temporarily hidden in our database and you are unable to receive/send messages. You can activate your profile to make it available again for search and contacts by pressing "Activate profile".

2.14 How can I see my profile from someone else's viewpoint?

There are two options for viewing your profile. You can see what your profile looks like to other people by visiting our search page and type your username into "Search by username" box and click at the search button. The second option to see your profile from someone else's viewpoint. Login to the site or click "My Panel" on the Top Menu and go to "Manage profile" box at the right and press "View my profile".

2.15 How to rate user's profile?

Only users can rate your profile. The visitors do not have this option. To do that you need to log into the site using your nickname and your password. Open profile which you would like to rate. In "Rate profile" section you can rate from 1 (bad profile) to 5 (amazing profile). After that your rating will show up and also the average rating and the number of rating in "votes". Later on you can change the rating on that same profile.

2.16 How to enable or disable my profile rating?

Login to the site using your username and password. Click "My profile" on the Top Menu. Then press "More options" and go to "Allow rating". Choose the option you'd like, scroll down the page and click "Save"

2.17 How to add comments to users profile?

Only users can comment on your profile. The visitors of site don't have that option. You will have to log in to site using your nickname and password. Open the profile that you want to comment on. On the bottom of profile you will press "Add comment". In that opening write your comment and press "Save comment" button. Your comment will appear in the bottom of profile. Please note that you can only comment on others profile if their owners didn't disable that option. The profile owner can delete any comments any time. This also can be done by administrator of site. Please be polite in your comments.

2.18 How to disable or enable comments on my profile?

Login to the site using your username and password. Click "My profile" on the Top Menu. Then press "More options" and go to "Allow profile comments". Choose the option you'd like and click "Save"

2.19 How to delete unwanted comment on my profile?

Login to the site using your username and password. Go to "Manage profile" box at the right and press "View my profile".Scroll down the page to see a comment at the bottom. Click "Delete" next to the unwanted comment to remove it from your page.

2.20 Can I have my contact details on profile?

We strongly recommend you not to write e-mail address and mobile number on your page for privacy reasons. Scammers and spammers can easily find them and use in online fraud.

2.21 How to disable or enable notifications about new messages, kisses?

Login to the site using your username and password. Click "My profile" on the Top Menu. Then press "E-mail & Notifications ". Manage your notifications by turning them on or off, scroll down the page and click "Save"

2.22 How can I delete my profile?

You can delete your profile at any time. Together with profile all the info like photos, list of friends and etc will be deleted without recovery. To delete you profile you will have to log on to the site using you nickname and password. After that you end up in "My Panel" page. On that page you will press "Delete", which is located in "Profile status" section. Now you profile is deleted permanently.

Click "Log In" on the Top Menu. Press "Forgot password?" next to the "Password" field. Type the email address you used while joining us. We will sent you a message with instructions to reset a password.

3.4 I am unable to log in, using the right nickname and password. Why?

  • You have misspelled your username or password. Check the spelling and try again
  • If you have another language than English set on your computer, please check you type your password in English

  • In any case you can just write to us using contact form

3.5 The reasons why your profile can be rejected/deleted.

Here are some reasons why your profile can be deleted:

  • You have made a second profile. This is forbidden by our rules. One person one profile on LuvFree
  • You have not confirmed your e-mail address within 24 hours or entered a wrong one.
  • You used proxy server to register on site
  • You used gibberish in any fields of profile
  • You using inappropriate, adult, explicit sexual or offensive content in any fields of profile.
  • Someone reported you
  • You are under 18
  • You are using our website for any type of commercial
  • You are not using good manner to other users ether through messages or chat
  • We are not excepting profiles from Europeans or Americans living in Africa and Asia. Unfortunately almost every one of those are fake
  • We were forced to make a cut back on people of certain countries in using our site. Unfortunately a massive violation of our rules had us make changes. So if your country isn't listed in registration form then your profile will be deleted.
We may delete your profile with a warning or with out.

3.6 My password is entered automatically. Why?

This hasn't got anything to do with LuvFree. This has to do with your browser. Usually the first time you enter your password your browser will ask if you want to save your password. If you answer "Yes" then your password will automatically be entered each time you visit the site. If more people have access to your computer then we recommend choosing "No" so you will type your password each time you enter the site for your own privacy.

4. Photos

4.1 Why should I upload my photos?

Adding photos to your profile gives other users a chance to see you before contacting you. Profiles with pictures get browsed ten times more often than ads without photos.

4.2 What are the guidelines for posting a photo?

Uploaded photos are reviewed by moderator. We reserve the right to reject any photo at our discretion. Please use .jpg files. There is no limit to actual dimensions of the image that can be uploaded. Our system will automatically resample your picture.

4.3 About photo content.

Please adhere to the following guidelines:

  • Use a photo of yourself alone for your primary image
  • You must be in the photo and clearly visible
  • Must match your stated gender
  • Do not upload photos with other sites logos
  • Nude, obscene, sexual or otherwise offensive photos will not be posted at all
  • Cartoon characters and photos of celebrities are copyrighted and will not be posted at all
  • Images with minors (children) will not be posted as your primary image
  • Group photos will not be posted as your primary image
  • No limits of size or proportions, because our system will automatically resample your pictures
  • Must be in .jpg/.jpeg format only.

4.4 How do I post a photo?

Login the site using your nickname and password. Press "Upload Photos" from the "User Menu", which is located on left top page. This is your photos management page. Here you are able to upload, remove and change your photos. In order to add a photo you have to click "Photo" so you can take a photo from your computer and post it on your profile. To your convenience you can also post a brief explanation about your photo on "Title" field. After that click "Save" and wait until your photo is completely uploaded to our server. If everything went proper then you will see message "Photo has been uploaded." Otherwise you will get message "Photo has not been uploaded." (Get detailed info on page 4.14) Please note that each time you upload or change your photos, your account is set into "Approval" mode and will be reviewed by LuvFree administration team for activation. You will be informed about the activation success within 2-12 hours. Once approved, uploaded photos will be posted as they are submitted.

4.5 What is a primary image?

Primary image is the first photo in your photo gallery. It usually displayed in search results and when you are online. Please do not post group photos, photos with kids as your primary image. The best first photo is a portrait.

4.6 How can I change the order of my photos?

Log in to the site using your nickname and password. Click "Upload Photos" from "User Menu", which is located on the top right corner of the page. Down a middle bottom you'll find section "My photos" where there are all your photos you added to our dating site. In order to change the order of photo you have to click on preview of the one that you want to move. How this photo is in full size in the middle of your page. Under the photo you'll see "Move up", "Move down", and "Set as primary". Click "Move up" or "Move down" depending where you want the photo to be. If you click "Set as primary" then that photo will be the main on your profile. If in this result your primary photo was changed then your account will go into "Approval" and will be reviewed by LuvFree administration team for activation. You will be informed about the activation success within 2-12 hours.

4.7 How can a photo be deleted?

Log in to the site using your nickname and password. Click on "Upload Photos" from "User Menu", which is located in the left top corner of page. Down at the bottom middle you will see section "My photos", in which all your photos that you added to our dating site. Click on the photo that you wish to delete. Now that photo is in full size. Click on "Delete" under the chosen photo to completely erase that photo from site.

4.8 What is private photo? How can I make my photo private?

Private photo can not be viewable by the public. Only members you give access will be able to see that photo/photos. To change the photo to private you need to log in using your nickname and password. Click on "Upload Photos" from "User Menu" which is in the left to top page. Down at the middle page you will see "My photos" in which all the photos that are added by you on our dating site. Click on review of the photo that you want to make private. Now this photo is in full size. Click on "Set as private" under the photo. How the visitors can look at that photo only with your permission. If you would like to make photo public again click "Set as public". Now the photo is available for public watch.

4.9 How to send the request to view the private photo? How to find out is some one is interested in viewing my private photo?

Instead of seeing your private photo the user sees "You need send a request to get access to member's private photos". If the member wants to see your private photo they will need to click "Sent request". After that you will receive a notification on your e-mail. Then as usual you'll need to log in using you nickname and password. Click on "Communicator" from "User Menu" which is on the top left corner of the page. Find "Members asked for access to your private photo" link, and you will see the profile of member that wants to view your private photo. Then you can click on "Grant access", beside the nickname of member. Your private photo will only be seen by her/him. Or you can simply delete this request. Your own requests on viewing private photos of other members will be seen if you click at "Members you asked for access to their private photo" link of "Communicator".

4.10 How many photos can I add to my profile?

You can post up to 30 photos.

4.11 I have added the photo but in few minutes it was gone. Why?

That means that your photo didn't match with our regulations (look at page 4.3) and administrator had to delete your photo. We have a right to delete any photo this isn't fitting the rules of our site.

4.12 How to rate a photos of other members and how does it effect anything?

Only members can rate the photos. The visitors of our free dating site do not have that kind of option. That's why if you want to rate other members you need to be logged on to the site. Then you can just click on wanted score in "Rate photo" section. Score from 1 (photo isn't impressing) to 6 (amazing photo). After that your rate will be entered, and you can also see the average rating in "Rate" and the quantity of scores by the other members in "Votes". Top 10 rated photos can be seen on main page of our site.

4.13 How to disable or enable my photos rating?

Login to the site using your username and password. Click "My profile" on the Top menu. Then press "More options" and go to "Allow rating". Choose the option you'd like, scroll down the page and click "Save"

4.14 I can not upload my photos. What should I do?

It is a possibility that you photos aren't saved in JPG/JPEG format. If you know how to convert it into this format, try it and upload again. If not then you can just e-mail the photo to us. It is possible that the file of your photo could be damaged.

4.15 How can I e-mail my photo to LuvFree?

If you are not able to upload your photo, just send it to [Please login to view e-mail] This way the administrator will upload your photos in the next 24 hours. When sending us e-mail make sure to write down your nickname in the e-mail, so administrator knows under what profile photos belong with.

5. Searching members

5.1 What is Quick Search?

If you quickly want to make new friends, no matter their location and age then you can click on "Quick Search" option. It is located in the top right corner of most pages our free dating site. It has the minimal inquiries: like gender (male/female) and presence of photos.

5.2 What is Advanced Search? How to make search across the country, city, zip code?

Advanced Search has more options comparing to Quick Search. To get to Advanced Search you will need to click on "Search" in the top navigation menu. On that page besides number of photos and gender search you can also request minimal and maximum age, county or city. You can also choose to find users who live in you ZIP code area. 5.3 How search works here?

Profiles are sorted by last login. Users with the last day login are usually displayed at the top of search results.

5.4 How to find a person by username?

Visit our search page and type a username into "Search by username" box and then click at the search button. If the profile is active, it will appear and you can click on profile. If you got no results, it means the username is not in our data base

5.5 How to find a person by ID?

Visit our search page and type a username into "Search by username or ID" box and then click at the search button. If the ID is active, it will appear and you can click on profile. If you got no results, it means the ID is not in our database

5.6 Search by major cities across the world.

For convenience of our members at the bottom of main page you will find "Free online dating in cities" block. That block contains the list of all major cities across the world. By clicking on chosen city you will see all profiles of people residing at that city.

5.7 What is a Hot List?

You can make your search more convenient with the "Hot list" option. Browsing through profiles put users you like into your Hot list by clicking "Hot user". After making your search you can go to your "Hot list" and send kisses or messages to users you marked as hot.

5.8 How to add members to my "Hot List"?

This function it available when you are logged in to the site. To add the profile to your "Hot list" can be done in 2 ways. Each profile has "Hot member" button, by clicking it that member automatically appears in the hot list and you will not loose him/her among other profiles. Or if you looking at different profiles you can just click "Hot member" from left "Contact menu" and profile of that user will be added to your hot list.

5.9 Where is hot list?

To see you hot list you will have to login to the site using your nickname and password. Then click "Communicator" from the left navigation menu called "User Menu". On the top of opened page you will see "Members you have hotlisted" and "Members you were hotlisted". If you click on Nickname profile of that user be opened.

6. Virtual kisses

6.1 What does "Send kiss" mean?

A kiss is like a shortcut for saying "Hello" or a way of showing that the person is interested. Try "Send kiss" to let someone know that you are interested in them and would like to start a conversation.

6.2 How to send a virtual kiss?

This is available when you are logged in. So log in using your nickname and password. You can send a "virtual kiss' when looking at the results of search. To do that just click on "sent kiss" which is located below every profile. You can also send a kiss when looking at a bunch of profiles. To do that you can just click "Send a Kiss" from left "Contact menu" or on button below each photo. After sending a kiss to the member he/she will receive notification on their e-mail and your nickname will be added to the list "Members you were kissed".

6.3 How to find out who has sent me a virtual kiss?

Log in with you nickname and password. You end up on "My Panel" page. You will see button "Kisses" from "Contacts" box, which is located in the middle of page. The list of all members who you have sent "virtual kiss" and member who have sent you a "virtual kiss" are located on page "Communicator" (to get to that page click "User Menu"). These lists are called "Members you have kissed" and "Members you were kissed". At any time you can clear those lists, nicknames and members that don't interest you anymore.

6.4 How to enable ordisable notifications about new kisses?

Login to the site using your username and password. Click "My profile" on the Top Menu. Then press "E-mail & Notifications " and go to "Notify me if someone sends me a new message or a kiss". Choose the option you'd like, scroll down the page and click "Save"

7. Friends list

7.1 What does "Friends" mean?

You are free to "Send Friend Request" to any user of the site and they can accept or reject it. Your friends will be displayed in the Friends List on your profile page. You can make your Friends List invisible. Friends can have unlimited messages (24 hours message limit does not work for them).

7.2 How to send a friend request?

This function is only available when you are logged on. So log in to the site using you nickname and password. Open the profile of the person who you would like to add to friends. Click "Add as Friend" from "Contact menu", which is to the left of the page. After the person will receive a notification, and will automatically be added to the list "Members you have invited as a friend" on "Communicator" page. If the member accepts your request then you will have him/her in your "Friends list". Congratulations! Now you have a friend with whom you can exchange unlimited number of letters! If the user declines your request then he/she will disappear from "Members you have invited as a friend".

7.3 How can I accept/decline Friend Request?

As soon as the user of our dating site will send you "Friend Request" you will get a notification on your e-mail. To accept or decline you will have to login using your nickname and password. You are on page "My Panel" where you will see info on "Friend Request" which is in the "Friends" field from informational "Contacts" box, which is in the middle of page. Then click on "Communicator" from the left navigation menu called "User Menu". On the top of page you will see "Member you were invited" link in which all the nicknames of users who are wishing to be you friends. Then just mark all the users who you wish to be friends with and click "Accept" in that list. Or mark all the users who you do not want as your fiends in "Friends list" and click "Reject" from that list.

7.4 How to delete some one from my "Friend list"?

Log in to the site using your nickname and password. Click on "Communicator" from the navigation menu called "User Menu". On the top of opened page you will see "Friends list" link, in which you'll see all nicknames of your friends. Mark all the users who you want to delete from your "Friends list" and press button "Delete from Friend list". It's done!

7.5 How to open or hide "Friends list" on my profile.

Login to the site using your username and password. Click "My profile" on the Top Menu. Then press "More options" and go to "Public friends list". Choose the option you'd like, scroll down the page and click "Save".

8. Messages

8.1 How to send a message? Where is my Outbox?

This function is only available when you logged in to the site. So log in to using your nickname and password. You can send message while looking at other profiles after search results. So click on "Send message", which is located on the bottom of every profile. Type in your message and click "Send". You can also send message while looking at full profile of user. To do that you need to press "Send message" from left "Contact menu" or "Send massage" right under a photo type in you message and click "Send". After you sent the user a message he/she will get a notification in the e-mail and message will be added in "My inbox" and in your "My Outbox". To see your outgoing messages you can by clicking "My Outbox" from "User Menu" which is on the left. To see messages that you have sent click on "Message Preview". By a little icon of envelope you can see if your message has been read or not. If the little icon shows closed envelope that means the user has not read the message if opened then it has been looked in. Periodically you can clean up your Outbox by deleting your unwanted messages.

8.2 What are some of the limits to messaging?

All users of our site can send no more then 10 messages in 24-hour period. That was done to fight with spammers and scammers. We do not accept any payment to make that limit higher since we are 100% free site. The only one way to make the limit go away is to add a person to your "Friends list". You can send unlimited number of messages to all users from your "Friends list". (To find out more about "Friends list" see page 7.1) Remember that if you need more frequent communication in the real time you can do it in our free chat. (To find more info about chat read on page 10)

8.3 Why I can not send a message?

Check out the status of your profile. If it is not active, you are unable to send messages. If the status is approval, you need to wait till a moderator makes your profile active. It usually takes us 1 -12 hours. If the status is suspended, please activate profile by yourself. If the status is unconfirmed, you should confirm your e-mail address. (More info about profile status on page 2.10)

8.4 Can I send my e-mail address, mobile number and other contact details in a message?

Yes, you are free to send them. There are no limits. You can write your e-mail, phone number, skype or kik IDs in messages. You are solely responsible for your interactions with other users and disclosing your privacy. We advice you not to share your contact details right away.

8.5 How to find out about new messages? Where's my inbox?

When somebody from your friends sends you message the same minute you will get a notification in your e-mail. As well you will get a note in new messages on page "My Panel" in "Messages" from informational "Contacts" box, which is located in the middle of page. In order to check Inbox and read messages from other users you have to login using your nickname and password. Press "My Inbox" from "User Menu", which is on the left. To read the message click on "Message Preview". If you click on nickname you will see users profile who sent you the message. Looking at icon you can see if you have read the message. If you see closed envelope that means you didn't open and read the message. If you see open envelope that means message has been read. You can periodically clean up you Inbox by deleting unwanted messages. When reading message from user you can click on "Reply" to write a message back that button is located top right corner.

8.6 I got a notification of a new message but do not see any new letter in my Inbox. Why?

There are some reasons why you got a notification of a new message/kiss but do not find anything in your Inbox/Communicator.

  • user profile has approval/unconfirmed status
  • user set suspended status for their profile
  • user has deleted his/her profile
  • profile of user was deleted from site
Please note profiles with approval, suspended, rejected status and deleted profiles are not visible in search results and in users Communicators. Their messages are also invisible.

We constantly delete profile of scammers and spammers from our dating site. When that happens all the messages sent by them are deleted as well. This is for your own protection. If you got the notification but don't see the message that's means that the notification was sent before profile was deleted.

8.7 How to turn on/off notifications about new messages?

Login to the site using your username and password. Click "My profile" on the Top Menu. Then press "E-mail & Notifications " and go to "Notify me if someone sends me a new message or a kiss". Choose the option you'd like, scroll down the page and click "Save"

8.8 I stopped receiving any notifications from LuvFree. Why?

Notification messages are sent to you automatically. If you stopped receiving notifications from our dating site that means that the server of your e-mail provider started to consider notifications of LuvFree as spam. That could happen because the notifications have similar text and e-mail providers could mark it as spam. Please check Bulk or Junk folder in your e-mail account. You can also add letters from [Please login to view e-mail] in "approved sender list", "safelist" or "whitelist" and "address book" to your e-mail provider. Big problem is that the e-mail services do not inform you about the messages they are blocking and do not give the opportunity to get all incoming messages. You can use a method called whitelisting to guarantee receiving from our service. All you have to do is to add [Please login to view e-mail] in the list of approved senders. That tells your e-mail service that you want to receive messages from us. Here are some advices on how to do it with most popular e-mail cervices:

  • If your mail is with Gmail.
    Check your "Spam" folder. If you find our email there, select the message from LuvFree and click "Not Spam". To ensure future delivery do the following: click on "Contacts" in the left sidebar >>> click on the "Create Contact" at the top of the page >>> type in LuvFree in the "Name field" and [Please login to view e-mail] in the "Email field" >>> click the "Save" button at the bottom of the page.
  • If your mail is with Yahoo.
    Check your "Bulk Mail" folder. If you find our email there, select the message from LuvFree and click "Not Spam". To ensure future delivery do the following: click "Contacts tab" at the top of the page >>> click the "Add Contact" button >>> type in LuvFree in the "Name field" and [Please login to view e-mail] in the "Email field" >>> then click the "Save" button at the bottom of the page.
  • If your mail is with Hotmail.
    Check your "Junk email" folder. If you find our email there, select the message from LuvFree and click "Not Junk". To ensure future delivery do the following: click on "Options" in the upper right hand corner of the page >>> click on "Safe and blocked senders" under Junk e-mail >>> click on "Safe senders" >>> type in [Please login to view e-mail] and click the "Add to list" button.
  • If your mail is with AOL.
    Check your "Spam" folder. If you find our email there, select the message from LuvFree and click "This is Not Spam". To ensure future delivery do the following: right click on "Contacts" in the left sidebar and select "New Contact" from the menu >>> type in LuvFree in the "Name Field" and [Please login to view e-mail] in the "Email 1 field" >>> press the "Create" button at the top of the page.
  • If you use Outlook.
    Select "Actions" from the top menu bar, then select "Junk email" followed by Junk email Options >>> select the "Safe Senders" tab, then click the "Add" button >>> type in LuvFree and click "OK" button >>> Click the "OK" button.

8.9 Profile of person with whom I communicated disappeared from your site. What happened?

Profile and all its messages can disappeared because of the following reasons:

  • profile of user was deleted from site (more info on page 3.5)
  • user set "Suspended" status for their profile (more info on page 2.10)
  • user has deleted his/her profile

8.10 I deleted the message I sent. Will it be removed from the inbox of the receiver?

No. If you delete the sent message from your outbox, it will stay in the inbox of the receiver.

8.11 I deleted the received message. Will it be removed from the outbox of the sender?

No. If you deleted the received message, it will stay in the outbox of the sender.

8.12 If I delete the message by accident can the administrator of site help me retrieve it?

No. Deleted messages can't be retrieved. Our mailing system works automatically. Administrator doesn't have access to it.

8.13 How to know if a message I sent has been read?

Click "My Inbox" from "User Menu" at the left. There is an envelope icon next to every message. The closed envelope means the user hasn't opened or read your message. If the envelope is open, it means the receiver has already read the message.

8.14 I have not received a reply for my message. It has not been read. Why?

Our site sends message notification each time when some one receives a message. Each user has their own way to check email account and visit our site. Some check email account few times a day, some once a month or more rare. Some users spend few hours on our site every day and some login few times a year. Besides that the user decides to open the message or not. If the user opens your profile and decides that he/she doesn't want to talk to you they can just delete the message without reading it. The user may not have time to reply to you or user is already talking to someone else. Don't get upset, just keep looking you'll have luck.

8.15 Why no one is writing to me?

You have to make your profile editing. It must be interesting and must have photos. Rarely other users pay attention to profiles without photos. You also have to make your profile so it is easy to find. You can read about it more in the "How to make your profile noticeable on online dating site". Also check the status of your profile it must be "Active" (More info on that you can read on page 2.10)

8.16 How can I block/allow other user from getting messages from him/her?

By what ever reason you might want to block the other member in order not to get messages from him/her. To do that log in to the site using your nickname and password. You can block the user while looking at profiles from search results. Just click the button "Block Member", which is located below every profile. You can also block the user while being in their profile. To do that click "Block Member" from left "Contact menu". Now the user can not send you any messages and his/her nickname will be added to the list of "Members you have blocked". If someone blocked you then his/her nickname will appear in "Members you were blocked by" meaning you cannot send them messages. These two links are on page "Communicator". If you want to unblock the user, log in to the site using your nickname and password. Click on "Communicator" from the left navigation menu which is called "User Menu". On bottom of opened page you'll see "Members you have blocked" link, and all the nicknames which you blocked. Check the nicknames which you want to receive messages from and click "Unblock" on that page.

8.17 How to report scam or spam?

You can use "Report Profile" button to report on scam or spam. You need to login to the site using your nickname and password. Open the profile of user who sent you spam message or was asking for money. Click on "Report Profile" from "Contact menu", which is from the left. In the field "Please comment", type in the situation and click "Send". Or you can use our contact form. To get to it click Contacts from the bottom navigation menu. Please put down ID or nickname of the person who sent you spam or was asking for money. Explain the situation. Profiles of scammers and spammers will be deleted without the right of returning.

9. Communicator

9.1 Why "Communicator" is needed?

Page "Communicator" shows useful information of your site activity. It is like a guidebook. On that page you can see and control your "Friends list", "Hot list", "Kisses list", "Blocked members list" and "Private photo request list".

9.2 How to get to "Communicator" page?

Log in to the site using your nickname and password. Click on "Communicator" from the left navigation menu "User Menu". It's done!

9.3 Information on Friends.

"Member you have invited as a friend", "Members you were invited" and "Friends list" links can help you manage the list of friends. (More info on "Friend list" is on page 7.1.)

9.4 Hot list.

"Members you have hotlisted" and "Member you were hotlisted" links can help you manage your "Hot list". (More info on hot list is on page 5.7.)

9.5 Information about virtual kisses.

"Members you have kissed" and "Members you were kissed" links can help you manage the list of virtual kisses. (More info about virtual kisses you can find on page 6.1.)

9.6 Information on blocked users.

"Members you have blocked" link can help you to block/unblock other members. "Members you were blocked" link can help you to know who has blocked you. (More info on block/unblock member from sending messages is on page 8.16)

9.7 How to unblock a user?

Log in to the site using your nickname and password. Click "Communicator" button from User Menu. You'll see our "Communicator Summary". Then find "Members you have blocked" link at the bottom of the "Communicator Summary" list, and press it. You'll see the list of users you have blocked. Check a user you want to unblock and press "Unblock" button.

9.8 Information on preview of private photos.

"Members asked for access to your private photo" and "Members you asked for access to their private photo" links can help you with requests of private photos. (More info on private photos in on page 4.8, 4.9.)

10. Blog

10.1 Why is blog needed?

Blog is the space where you can write about you life and interests, share your thoughts and fillings, tell stories or funny jokes. You may write posts in blog all the time or not right at all. Creation and keeping up of blog is a good way to share your thought with other member of our free dating site. By reading someone's blog is a good way to find out more about them. Also the users can comment on blogs if it is allowed by them. At any time you can change or delete any post. Other members of blogs can delete unwanted comments from their posts.

10.2 How do I make a post in my blog?

Login the site using you username and password. Click "My Blog Posts" from the "User Menu" at the left. Click "Add a new post" to make a post. Create a "Title" for your post and type a text into "Post" box. Then press "Save". New post will appear on your profile page and in the Blogs. Blogs are publicly viewed. You can turn on/off comments on your post.

10.3 How can I change and delete posts in my blog?

Login to the site using your username and password. Click "My Blog Posts" from the "User Menu" at the left. There are two buttons under the post "Edit" and "Delete". If you click "Delete", the post will be deleted permanently. If you click "Edit", you can edit your post and save changes by pressing "Save".

10.4 Where can I find and read blogs of users?

All posts of all blogs are added to list of "Latest Blog Posts". To open that list click on "Blogs", which is on the top navigation menu. All posts on open page are sorted by date. On first page are the newest post, on the last page the oldest. You can also read the blog when looking at profiles. From the left of page you can see section "Contact Menu". If you click on "Read Blog" you will see the posts of that person. The most read posts on account can be seen in "Featured blog posts", which is on the bottom left of the main page of site.

10.5 How to comment in blog of other member?

Log in to the site using your nickname and password. Open the post in which you want to add you comment. Click on "Add comment", which is below of post. The text field will open up where you can type in you comment. In the end click "Save comment", so your comment will be saved. Note that you can delete your comment at any time. Beside your comments you'll see button "Delete"; use it to delete comment. Also you comment can be deleted by person who created that comment. Neither you nor the creator of the post can change the comment. If by any reason you want to change your comment then we suggest deleting your previous post and write a new one. Or post a second comment.

10.6 How can I delete the comment of the other member from my blog?

Log in to the site using your nickname and password. Click on "My Blog" from navigation menu with a name "User Menu". On opened page you'll see the list of all posts in your blog. Click on title of post in which the unwanted comment is. Click on "Delete" beside the unwanted comment and delete permanently.

10.7 How to able or disable comments on my blog?

Login to the site using your username and password. Click "My profile" on the Top Menu. Then press "More options" and go to "Allow blog comments". Choose the option you'd like, scroll down the page and click "Save".

10.8 Why I can not add a post in my own blog?

The most common reason is you profile may not be "Active". Meaning if you have just registered and administrator didn't yet check and activate your account. If you are using dating services for a while then you probably have done some changes or added new photos in your account. After those changes administrator must inspect your profile. Usually it doesn't take more then 24 hours. As soon as your profile will have status "Active", then you can have all the advantages of using our site and adding comments to your own blog for free. (More info on profile status you can read on page 2.10)

10.9 Why I can not comment on a blog?

If you can not comment on a blog, it means comments were turned off by user. Or your profile status is not "Active". (More info about profile status on page 2.10)

10.10 I added post and in some time it was gone. What happened?

The only reason this can happen is administrator of site has deleted it. Possibility is that you post broke the blog rules.

10.11 I added a comment, but it is gone in a little while. Why?

That means your comment was deleted. It was deleted either by administrator or by the member. The owner of blog could have thought you comment was rude or unwanted. Administrator could've deleted you comment if you broke site's rules.

10.12 Are the blogs being looked at?

Yes. Administrator looks at posts and comments. Please respect the rules and don't break them.

10.13 Blog rules.

  • No offensive, insulting or explicit language. Offensive references to sex, gender, ethnicity, or sexual orientation are forbidden.
  • Blogs are publicly viewed, and may be commented by other members.
  • No criticizing the site actions here. You may send us your suggestions and feedback here.
If you break our blog rules your account may be rejected with or without notice.

11. Statistics on site

11.1 How many users are registered on site?

Some of dating sites are hiding this information from users. Our dating site keeps the visitors informed and doesn't require registration to look at profile of members and full sized photos. Also we are not hiding the number of members on our free dating site. We think that the openness of this information will make the visitor want to register. If you are interested in a total number of users you can see it on middle left section "LuvFree Member" in a list "Total" on all the pages of our site. The number of our members is growing everyday!

11.2 How many users on the certain page?

This info you can find in section "LuvFree Members", which is on left middle on almost all pages. Choose the name of country from the list "Members from" and after that you'll see the number of registered users from interested by you country.

11.3 How many users are online how to see their profile?

You can immediately start communicating if the other person will be interested in your profile. So log in to the site using your nickname and password. Look at "LuvFree Members" section which is on middle left part of page. After clicking "Online" page will come up with all the members who are on-line. Next you can choose "women" or "men" which is on the top of list.

11.4 How many users in chat at given time?

Log in to the site using your nickname and password. Look at "LuvFree Member" on middle left page. After writing "Chatting" you will see the number of users in chat at given time.

11.5 I have done search on your site and didn't find a single person from my area. What should I do?

You can try to increase the area of your search. If you still have not found anyone don't get upset. Many new members are added to our site everyday. Do not delete your account. Maybe in a couple of days you'll see the person register from your area and he/she can find you.

12. Tags

12.1 What are tags?

Tags are keywords or phrases connected with users profiles. They can assist in easy search of related topics.

12.2 How to use tags?

If you'd like to browse through profile with the word "love", you can use our search by tags. Find "Popular tag" block to right bottom of main page, and click love. After that the page will open with all the users who have used same words. Clicking on women or men can filter the given list, which is on top list. If in block "Popular tags" you will not see interesting info then click on View all tags, which is on the very bottom of block where you can see the whole list.

12.3 Can I choose my own tags on my profile?

No. On our site the tags for every profile are done automatically. Our program will analyze all profiles and choose the most common words.

13. Security and scam

13.1 Is it safe to meet people on LuvFree?

Millions of people are using dating sites to find friends and love. We are trying to make this site a safe place to meet new people. To avoid scam, just follow some safety rules. Do not share your contact details right away and never send money to any person you met online.

13.2 Do you sell/introduce any info about my e-mail or me?

No, we don not sell/introduce any info about you and do not require confidential information. You disclose your own info in your profile which you think is ok to do so. Also we do not sell your e-mail and do not give it to the third person. Only you and we know your e-mail. This keeps your privacy. Your e-mail is needed for sending you notifications of new messages, virtual kisses, changes of your profiles status.

13.3 What kind of scams is there?

There are lots of different methods of scams. Scammer is usually a person who you may know for a week or two starts messaging of deep feeling of love towards you. After using your trust can make money under different situations: for example to get visa, buying a plane ticket. They often ask for money for medical bills for you or family members. Some scammers message that they were traveling to another country where they were robbed and/or taken as hostage, asking money for plane ticket or a bribe. Some write about sudden problems with bank and asking money to pay the bill. Besides some are offering to buy some kind of merchandise, visit some sites and invite you to pay webcam show. These are scams too. If you do send money to scammer it doesn't mean that he/she will leave you alone although most stop communication. Most scammers live in Africa, Asia, and Russia. Scammers create men and women's profiles. Meaning behind woman's profile can be a hidden male. Women scammers are met often too, so now you know about this problems. To spot scammers isn't difficult. If you have doubts about the person online please make sure to write to us.

13.4 How can I be sure of person existence with which I talk?

We are doing everything possible to provide our users with the safe and quality dating services. Unfortunately we can not do a background checks and confirm the true information which the user posts on the profile. Also we can not confirm the photos. Sometimes the user posts photos from 10-15 years ago and says the incorrect age. You interested to get closer with a person don't be in a hurry to trust him/her completely. Talk to them here then on a phone. Plan a private meeting. Let you relationship uncover slower.

13.5 My new friend says he/she can not add a photo to your site. Can I believe that?

Adding a photo to our site isn't hard. If a person says that they can't add the photo they you can try to explain or recommend reading page 4.4. If after that the person is still asking for you e-mail address you should be careful of him/her. To add a photo to our site isn't harder then to send it to your e-mail. That why that person may be interested in getting your e-mail address. We do not recommend disclosing your e-mail address to unknown people since it decreases privacy; your email address can be added to many spam lists and be used in other illegal ways.

13.6 Someone is asking me to exchange info using other site, even though we can do that here absolutely free?

That situation comes up when the person is talking to you only for advertising of other web site. On truthful side this person isn't interested in talking to you. His/her mission is to make you use other web site. In most cases that person is working for other site or gets paid if you register on site, which he/she is inviting you in. Very often they advertise:

  • Payable dating sites
  • The new sites with very least users
  • Sites that gather personal info about you
  • Sites that infect your computer with viruses.

13.7 I received the first message from users and he/she is asking for e-mail exchange. Can I do that?

We do not forbid you to exchange e-mail addresses. You can give your e-mail address to anybody you want but to be on the safe side, we do not recommend if you don't know person well. It is very suspicious if a person is asking your e-mail in the first message. Most likely that person is interested in your e-mail address and not you. He/she can gather addresses with the intention of adding them to spam list or can be just a scammer before us deleting them from our site.

13.8 The user is asking for money. What should I do?

Never send money to people you don't know! If someone asks for money or offers to receive money, it is scam! Report scammer by clicking "Report user" link.

13.9 I was scammed in the Internet. Can I post info of my story on your site?
