Or you could try not being attached to the results; if you care about people regardless of their reaction to your care, that is truly caring about them. If your care is based upon their reaction to you and your behavior towards them, you are their prisoner. If with each act of kindness towards them you put a silent debit upon their ledger and expect them to balance it later, its this expectation going unfulfilled that frustrates you. If, on the other hand, you behave in the same manner, showing the care that you think a good person should, with no expectation of reciprocity, you shall not be disappointed by however they react, and you remain free.
